Dianne Daley McClure LL.B. (Hons), LL.M., is one of the founding partners of FOGA DALEY and the head of the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Department. Her principal practice areas are transactional IP rights and rights acquisition in the areas of trademarks, designs, copyright and related rights, patents and trade secrets. Her practice includes related areas such as IP rights licensing and administration and Entertainment, Media and Sports law.
Dianne is a CIDA scholar and has a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and a Master’s Degree in Comparative Law from McGill University specializing in IP and International Copyright. She was called to the Jamaican Bar in 1990 and has over twenty years’ experience in IP law and practice. Her first job in the field was as legal director and head of Jamaica’s Copyright Office in 1995. Over the course of the next five years she advised government on legislative and policy issues touching all types of IP Rights and represented the Government as IP Expert at international forums including WIPO, UNESCO & FTAA.
Dianne has been a recommended trademark practitioner making the list of recommended Caribbean firms and individual practitioners in World Trademark Review’s (WTR 1000) – a definitive guide to the World’s Leading Trademark Professionals for the past seven (7) years. She is one of only 2 women from the Caribbean to make the list of “IP STARS Top 250 Women in IP for 2017” which recognises female IP practitioners in private practice from around the world who have performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year.

Dianne is the Chairman of the Jamaican Copyright Licensing Agency (JAMCOPY), Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Jamaican Bar Association and also a member of the Technology, Telecommunications and Broadcasting Committee. She is Company Secretary for the Jamaica Music Society (JAMMS). Dianne has authored several publications including a monograph on Jamaica’s Intellectual Property Laws published in the International Encyclopaedia of Laws, Kluwer Law International (2008) and the Jamaica Chapter on Copyright in Copyright throughout the World, West (2009).
Dianne is currently an Associate Lecturer for the Master of Laws Degree Programme on Intellectual Property in the Creative and Cultural Industries at the Faculty of Law, Mona Campus. Previous appointments include Consultant for the Commonwealth Secretariat and the UK Commission on Intellectual Property Rights, Acting Chairman of the Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) Advisory Board; Deputy Chairman of Jamaica’s Copyright Tribunal; Special Ministerial Advisor on Intellectual Property, Coordinator for the establishment of JIPO, and head of Jamaica’s Copyright Unit.
Outside of work, Dianne is a singer and songwriter of Christian music and a Praise & Worship leader at church and is passionate about fulfilling God’s call on her life.
